Semana Santa in Antigua!

Summer is here!!! & so is Semana Santa, in about two weeks from today! Though the celebration has already started with the Velaciones and Procesiones!

Semana Santa in Antigua has always been famous for it's colorful and devoting way of celebrating it. Thousands of tourists visit Antigua each year for this dates to watch the procesiones and other ceremonies! But the most inspiring tradition of Semana Santa are the carpets, or "alfombras". They are bright and collorful, made with sawdust, sand, flowers, fruits, vegetables! Some all mixed up, other with just one "ingredient", no matter how; always with a beautiful result of different designs!

Coming to Antigua on Semana Santa should be a MUST on your list! It is an event you do not want to miss!

Here are a few pictures of a sawdust carpet which was made last year!

A few pictures of our "Convivio navideño" with all the school staff

Thank you very much to our headmaster, Mario, for helding this kind of events. We had a lot of fun at the "convivio navideño", it was held in Tre Fratelli's terrace. We ate a delicious churrasco (beans, salad, roasted meat and tortillas)

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
Felices Fiestas!!
